How to cleanse your skin

Did you know that the skin is the largest organ in your body?   Covering you from head to toe, the skin is one of the crucial parts of your body’s defense system. Remember that clean and healthy skin means a healthy body and a happier you.

Your skin is constantly protecting you. Your skin keeps infections out of your body and keeps you from getting sick. When you take care of your skin, you're helping it do its job. And taking care of your skin today will help prevent future problems, like wrinkles and even skin cancer.
Proper hygiene is a very important for health. For sure, you do not want to smell sweaty and yucky and have the whole world avoiding you. I mean, who would?

Proper hygiene means keeping clean the largest organ in your body and also the most exposed to the hazards of this world.

Here’s a list featuring simple tips for your daily hygiene:

Ø Start simple. Who said you need expensive products to take care of your skin? Gentle cleansers or soaps are usually enough for the daily cleansing of your skin.

Ø Start early. You cannot be too young to start minding your skin, but you can be too old and too late. Start pampering and protecting your skin so it can stay fresh as you age.

Ø Use mild soap.Stay away from harsh cleansers that are made of strong chemicals. These can dissolve your skin’s natural proteins and oils, thus doing more harm than good. Cleansing products should be as chemical-free as possible. Do not use deodorant soaps on your face! They are made of strong chemicals and also leave a detergent film behind. This protective layer will actually irritate your skin and clog your pores.

Ø Use lukewarm water.  The water used on your face should always be lukewarm. If you make it too hot, you will dehydrate your skin, making it more prone to damage. You may also scald or even burn your skin. If it’s too cold, the water will dry your skin.

Ø Be gentle. Be careful not to damage or tear your skin. Exfoliating it will actually help remove dead skin cells but go easy so it will not hurt you.

Ø Toning is ok. Toning helps keep the skin clear and firm, which is good. The best tones around are those containing alpha hydroxy acids and glycolic. Avoid those made with alcohol and those that are marked photosensitive.

Ø Moisturize it. Moisturizers help prevent water loss by either drawing moisture to the outer layer of the skin, or coating the skin's surface with a layer of substance, sealing moisture into the skin. For an intensive moisture treatment use pure vitamin E, or Aloe Vera oil, which is available in liquid form. Alternatively just break open a capsule and apply the oil directly to the skin. This is a great under-eye treatment. Remember it is very important to moisturize this sensitive area of the face. It is one of the first places to show age because the under-eye skin secretes none of the necessary oils on its own.

Take good care of your skin.  Nobody else will do that for you.
